Capitol Policeman Led the Charge

A CAPITOL POLICEMAN LED THE CHARGE INTO THE LEGISLATIVE CHAMBERS

My military service ended a half century ago. I tuned into NBC Nightly News at 6:30 PM on January 6, 2021, and watched until 10:30 PM; in so doing saw a dozen times the video of the start of the rush into the legislative chambers.

The Trump protestors are outside the flimsy barricades at the bottom of the steps. A Capitol policeman, in uniform, is talking to them.  He then turns and walks halfway up the stone stairs, then turns and speaks to protestors for two seconds, then strides quickly up the rest of the stairs.

The Trump protestors quickly follow, and the carnage flows.

He is probably a Trump supporter, and nobody has noticed.

As for January 6, 2021 being a sad day for democracy; I disagree.

I remember Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941. In my office hangs a framed three different views of the Twin Trade Towers in NYC, with the caption "We will never Forget September 11, 2001."

The period from January 6, 2021 to January 20, 2021 will witness the greatest re-assertion of legislative democracy in the United States, and the death of Trumpism.
